What is a Lightsaber?
A Lightsaber is a term that is immediately reminiscent of a beloved science fiction opera that captured the hearts of literally millions of fans across the globe. The Lightsaber is a term that is proximately acquainted with the world of Star Wars and for the true fans of the lore, this word brings nostalgia, felicity and invokes and sense of power even. For those of you that don’t know, let us delve deeper into the term itself.
The World of Star Wars is inherently and dominatingly comprised of Force users, the mystical energy that binds every living thing to each other in that respective universe. Amongst these force users, there are those that are morally sound and pious, thereby marking them as practitioners of the Light side and positive philosophy of the Force, focusing on attributes such as peace, restraint and serenity. These light side users are known as Jedi. On the reciprocal scale, they are repudiated and opposed by a faction of Dak Side Force users that rely on sentiments of Anger, rage, impatience and Fear. These are the Sith and they are exact opposites of their Light side counterparts.
However, there is one common factor that exists between both these factions and that is their choice in Weaponry. That Weapon is called the Lightsaber. The Lightsaber is the typical tool of a Jedi or Sith and its usage and mastery is what lends to their wielders a status that distinguish them as a cut above the ordinary amongst the common rabble that surrounds them. The weapon in question is comprised of a hilt which contains a power cell, a focusing crystal and a beam splitter. Upon being switched on, a lightsaber emits a beam of pure energy plasma, capable of cutting through almost anything. Each Lightsaber possesses a distinct hue which may be green, red, blue, violet and so forth, which is dependent upon the type of crystal installed within the hilt.
